NEW ROOTSTOCKS OF STONE FRUIT TREES SELECTED IN SKIERNIEWICE, POLAND

This paper presents the history of horticultural and nursery evaluation of generative rootstocks: two for cherries- ‘Popiel’ and ‘Piast’ originating from Prunus mahaleb L.; four for plums and apricots -‘Agata’, ‘Amelia’, ‘Anna’, ‘Alina’ derived from Prunus cerasifera Ehrh. syn. Prunus divaricata Led. and one ‘Wangenheim Prune’ seedling, selected from Prunus domestica L. All rootstock types were officially registered into the “List of cultivars of fruit trees and berry plants” in the 1991-2001 period.
The ‘Wangenheim Prune’ seedling is the rootstock best known by nurserymen in Poland.
These rootstocks have been cleaned up from the main viruses and they have VF health status.
