Abstract
Unsaturated fatty acid was separated and purified from pumpkin seed oil with the urea-inclusion method.
The result showed that purity of linoleic acid relates to content of fatty acid, urea and ethanol with no significant time and temperature dependence.
The purity of linoleic acid increased from 62.80% to 95.79% when the fatty acid:urea was 1:2.5, urea:ethanol was 1:2, and after storage of 20 hours at 10°C. The research provided a new way to purify linoleic acid.
