Abstract
This paper is a brief presentation of strategy for saving energy under protected cultivation in France.
This strategy involves not only physical processes to reduce fuel consumption or to develop alternative sources of energy, but also the ways of increasing potential crop production.
As an illustration, the author gives outlook about solar greenhouses developped in France.
