Abstract
Greenhouses are structures designed to grow plants, not conserve energy.
Inherent in their design is the problem of high heat losses during cold periods at night.
Effective conservation techniques maintain the high light transmitting qualities of the greenhouse while attacking the nighttime heat loss problem.
There are several approaches being taken by producers in the USA. No one single approach or technique can meet the needs of all the many types and designs of greenhouses.
