Abstract
Inoculation with Fusariummoniliforme ‘Subglutinans Snyd. & Hans. protected gladiolus corms from infection by the fusarium yellows and corm rot pathogen.
F. oxysporum f.sp. gladioli (Massey) Snyd. & Hans.
Freshly harvested corms were cleaned and treated with fungicides or dipped in a spore suspension of F. moniliforme ‘Subglutinans’ isolate M-685 or M-699. Inoculation with M-685 protected corms of 2 cultivars against fusarium rot as well as or better than benomyl and captan.
M-685 was superior to the fungicides where corms were inoculated with the pathogen, F. oxysporum, before fungicidal treatment or inoculation with M-685 culture.
