Abstract
The principle aim of the research is to ascertain growth efficiency of individual medicinal plants in marginal mountaneous regions of Zalec community.
Here it has to be recapitulated that the marginal, terraced and hilly teritory covers 26230 hectares, that is 75,11 per cent of total area of Zalec community.
Besides some economically less important activities, stock-farming represents the main agricultural preocupation However, medicinal plants growing could be a part of revitalization of rural economy in those marginal, hilly parts of the Savinia valley.

Natural properties are rather versatile.
The relief, climate and ground profile provide a large assortment of different medicinal plants.
The above mentioned properties have been taken into account at the selection of experimental plants.
Besides, the experiences of our cooperative growers and their technical equipment took an important role in it.
The experiments were made with less sensitive plants.
They were planted at the sites, where the growers showed readiness and offered an active cooperation in experimental medicinal plants growing.
