Abstract
A total of 66 species of higher plants representing 61 genera distributed over 29 families were collected from various parts of Catalonia (Spain) and screened for the occurrence of alkaloids by means of alkaloid-precipitating reactions, titration and TLC. 17 plant extracts yielded positive results, and four of them are reported for the first time as alkaloid-containing species.
