Abstract
The results are given of a survey in which the nitrate content of various crops under protected cultivation was studied.
Leafy vegetables have a high, fruit vegetables a low nitrate content.
The growing period within the year /= the global radiation level/ was found to strongly affect the nitrate content of lettuce.
The regression equation of nitrate content of lettuce on average radiation in 12 months was calculated.
