Abstract
A close relation exists between soil Br as determined by the 1:2 volume extract method and Br content of lettuce.
Soil disinfection with methyl bromide strongly increases the bromide content of soils; metam-Na, methylisothiocyanate and dichloropropene were found to do so to a much lesser extent.
Soil steaming also results in a raised Br level in soil and crop.
Soil disinfection with methyl bromide strongly increases the bromide content of soils; metam-Na, methylisothiocyanate and dichloropropene were found to do so to a much lesser extent.
Soil steaming also results in a raised Br level in soil and crop.
Leaching the soil is an effective way of lowering the Br content.
