Abstract
This contribution reports a comparative study of the metabolism of carbohydrate, protein and non-protein nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in gladioli plants developing from adult corms, from parts of corms and juvenile corms.
The biochemical analyses showed that hydrolytic and synthetic processes are more intensive in plants developing from juvenile bulblets and pieces of adult corms.
The rise in hydrolytic and synthetic processes in plants developing from parts of old corms is attributed to temporary rejuvenation.
