Abstract
"Julija" is a mid-early peach (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch) cultivar for dessert use.
The tree is medium vigorous and the crown moderately vigorous, wide pyramidal.
Fruits are small to medium-sized, slightly elongated.
Skin colour is yellow, of excellent quality.
The stone is medium large and does not split, separating from the flesh when soft ripe.
This cultivar is well- adapted to the conditions of central Serbia (Sumadija) and to other temperate-climate regions.
Due to high cropping potential it requires fruit thinning.
Ripening season is the beginning of the second decade of July, several days after Favorita 2, 13–15 days after Goldcrest, 3–4 days before Springbelle (Battistini, 1985) and Maria Luisa (Bellini, 1981), and 5–6 days before Sentry (Fogle et al., 1982). It is suitable for growing in commercial plantings and in home gardens.
