Abstract
The development process of peach pollen grain is reported.
It is divided into 3 stages and subdivided into 9 phase. 1. Uninucleate stage: 1) Uninucleate center globular phases, 2) Uninucleate center emerging colporate phase, 3) Uninucleate Keeping to side phase, 4) Uninucleate tending to center phase; 2. Mitotic stage: 5) Mitosis including prophase, metaphase and anaphase; 3. Binucleate to bicellular stage: 6) Binucleate phase, 7) Bicellular phase, 8) Generative cell enveloping vegetative cell globular phase, 9) Generative cell enveloping vegetative cell triangular phase.
This paper also discusses emphatically the differences of pollen grain development between dicotyledonous peach and monocotyledonous grass, and has raised morphological and cytological signs of two "uninucleate center phases", and has provided a reliable reference for accuratelly collecting specimen in anther culture.
