Abstract
The juvenile-like character of micropropagated (MP) trees of apple cvs.
Jonagold, Neipling Early Red Stayman, Golden Delicious and Mutsu was manifested as (1) excessive vegetative development, (2) an ageing gradient, similarly to seedlings with real juvenility, (3) delay of commencement in flowering and cropping.
Growth characteristics have been modified by growth regulators – like the feathering agent Paturyl 10 SSC and the triazole PGRs: Cultar and S-3307 D without any convincing influence on flower induction.
This paper refers to experiences with cv.
Jonagold, only.
