Abstract
In 1991 experiments with the superintensive culture of sweet cherries were started.
The trees are grown in containers, in a greenhouse, to protect them from spring frost and rain cracking of the fruits.
Growth of these trees might be too strong in the 2nd leaf (depending on the rootstock). The first yield is obtained in the 3rd leaf.
Fruit sizes are quite variable according to the number of fruits on the tree and the rootstock.
However, productions of 9 tons per hectare are reached.
