Abstract
Protected vegetable crops are frequently damaged or killed by various diseases organisms such as fungi, bacteria and viruses.
They may cause serious losses to the growers.
Plants may be also affected by disorders caused by unfavorable environmental factors such as bad soil conditions, too high or too low temperature, poor water supply, widely fluctuating moisture conditions, sunlight and unfavorable relative humidity.

Suitable greenhouse climate such as continous warm and humid conditions also results favorable for several diseases caused by biotic factors.
Low temperature during the darker months increases the attack of soil borne and leaf diseases pathogens.
High temperatures during the warmer months along with relatively dry conditions favors severe attacks of powdery mildew and wilting diseases.

The most frequently greenhouse vegetables diseases are:

Sclerotinia stem rot, timber rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) on tomato and pink joint of peppers.

Blight and root rot of pepper (Phytophthora capsici).

Attacking tomato and pepper roots and lower stems (Rhizoctonia solani, Sclerotinia rolfsii y Pythium spp.).

Tomato leaf mold (Cladosporium fulvum).

Gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) affects leaves, stems and fruits of several vegetables.

Powdery mildew (Erysiphe cichoracearum) on melon and cucumber.

Strawberry powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca macularis f.sp. fragarie).

Blossom end rot non parasitic disorders of tomato and pepper.

Bacterial soft rot (Erwinia carotovora spp carotovora).

Early blight (Alternaria solani).

Tomato spotted wilt virus TSWV.
