CREEPING SQUASH CULTIVATED IN A PROTECTED ENVIRONMENT (FORCED TUNNEL)

Abstract
This work was carried out at "Setor de Plasticultura" do Departamento de Engenharia Rural da Facultade de Ciencias Agrarias e Veterinarias – UNESP – Campus de Jaboticabal SP Brasil, during the agricultural year 1990/91.

The plastic use according to Araujo (1989) permit to get expressive alteration in the activity of producing food, altering the growth environment and vegetalbe reproduction.

The treatments were: 1.-Conventional Treatment (control); 2.-Mulching use, covering the soil with a black plastic film; 3.-Cultivation with a use of a forced tunnel and 4.-Cultivation under a mulching and a forced tunnel.
It was used the squash cultivar "PIRA MOITA". In relation to the production it was observed values of 107%, 80% and 50% superior to the treatments 4,2 and 3, respectively, when compared with the control.
