Abstract
A number of 9 Vitis vinifera hybrids imported from France and Switzerland have been planted in 1989 in the Istituto Agrario of S. Michele all’ Adige (Trento-North East Italy). The aim of the present study was the characterization of their performances with the possibility of improving the standard quality of local wines.
In the period 1993–1994 some quanti-qualitative traits have been recorded at harvest.
Moreover, the wines obtained by vinification of small-lot of grapes have been sensory analyzed.
Some preliminary observations reported in this work reveal some interesting organoleptic characteristics for different hybrids.
In particular, Arinarnoa and Doral varieties showed interesting oenological characters with good yield per hectare; also Garanoir, gave a particular wine but with a low yield.
