Abstract
The research undertaken on the selection of greenhouse rose-stocks is a concerted effort between various laboratories (agronomy, plant improvement, vegetable pathology, nematodology and zoology). These laboratories belong to the Research Centre of Antibes.
The aim is a stock favouring winter production of roses.
On a short term basis our work is concerned with the creation of a clone from seed with the qualities of Rosa indica major without the incompatibilities existing between this stock and numerous varieties of roses.
On a long term basis we are looking for a stock multiplied annually by seed so as to avoid the inconveniences created by vegetative propagation and to use the budding technique used with Rosa canina.
