Abstract
During the last five years, rose culture has been greatly developed on Tenerife.
However, the growers are facing a series of factors which make it very difficult to produce a highly economic yield.

An analysis of the production problems as well as an economic study of a pilot plantation on the island, based on data of present mean of production and sales, is presented in this communication.
Taking this study as a base, some conditions limiting the profitability of the culture are considered.
