Abstract
Comparing different complexing agents with 8-hydroxyquinoline sulphate (S – 8HQ) in preservative solutions for cut flowers, we obtained similar data to S-8HQ for increment fresh weight, increment of the diameter, growth of petals and prolongation of life of the flower.

These data support the hypothesis that blockage of the vessels may be an enzymatic process that could be inhibited by removing the microelements of the coenzyme.
