Abstract
Ranunculus is a typical mediterranean floral species.
The traditional methods of growing the clones in the open are gradually disappearing.
This could be replaced by cultivation under protection of varieties from seed, provided that good F1 hybrids are obtained and precise growing techniques are improved.

Firstly we show the fundamental problems that growing of Ranunculus under protection poses and some possible solutions.
