ANALYSIS OF THE CORRELATIONS IN FLORAL CHARACTERS OF CARNATIONS

In 15 varieties of Carnation, Dianthus caryophyllus l., of which 6 belonged to the Sim American race, 5 were of Italian origin and 4 were of those called Anitas, all the correlations in 21 floral characters were studied during a full harvest year in the open air.

This study discusses the way in which improvements must be orientated to obtain a floral stem of good commercial characteristics.
