Abstract
In order to evaluate the prospects of litchi cultivation in the Canary Islands, 19 cultivars were planted in June 1995 under dry subtropical conditions in the southwest of the island of Tenerife.
Phenological and production (yield and quality) parameters are currently being studied.
Preliminary data show good vegetative development for all the cultivars except Wai Chee, higher precocity for Yu Her Pan and Early Large Red, and higher yield for Lenz, Calcuttia Late and Brewster.
