Abstract
Treatment with 2000 or 4000 ppm ethephon in autumn delayed flowering of six Turkish apricot cultivars by several days, but induced undesirable side effects such as gummosis, leaf abscission and bud drop, particularly at the higher concentration.
ABA injected before bud swelling stopped the opening of flower buds and delayed opening of leaf buds on cuttings.
It also delayed blossoming by two days when injected into the stems of young trees.
