Abstract
Characterization of protein was done in Carica papaya, Vasconcellea candamarcensis and their F2 population.
In the study, two polypeptides bands with Rf (relative mobility) value of 0.09 and 0.21 (corresponding molecular weight of 95 and 70 kDa) were found in the female parent CO 2 whereas, Vasconcellea candamarcensis had the polypeptide bands with Rf value of 0.29, 0.43 and 0.48 (corresponding molecular weight of 56, 38 and 35 kDa). Among the F2 progenies, G 38, G 39, G 45, G 48, G 49, G 50, G 51, G 53, G 54, G 57, G 58 (56 kDa), G 23, G 24, G 25, G 26, G 27 (38 kDa) and G 43 (35 kDa) had registered the polypeptide bands with Rf value of 0.29, 0.43 and 0.48.
