Abstract
Ten sweet cherry cultivars (Regina, Katalin, Summit, Sunburst, Coralise, Namare, Naprumi Merchant, Kordia and Hedelfinger) were grafted on Gisela 5 rootstock and 2 cultivars (Kordia and Hedelfinger) were grafted on Maxma 14 rootstock in 2003 and planted at a spacing of 4.0 x 2.5 m.
The trees were drip-irrigated.
At the end of each growing season from 2003-2009, trunk diameters and yield per tree were measured.
Trunks of all cultivars on Maxma 14 were with larger in diameter than those on Gisela 5. Yield of Hedelfinger was the highest among the 10 cultivars, followed by Katalin, Sunburst, Merchant and Naprumi. The yield of Kordia was the lowest. Summit had the highest fruit weight, followed by Sunburst and Namare. Naprumi had the lowest fruit weight.
