Abstract
Expanded clay has been used during many years as a substrate in hydroponics.
As we have also the industry who makes expanded clay in Belgium, a study is set up to use this material as a substrate for hydroponics.
This argex contains more salts than the other materials coming from the surrounding countries.
From our growing experiments this Belgian expanded clay can be used in hydroponics as good as the materials coming from Germany, The Netherlands or Switserland.
