Abstract
Extracts from 29 out of 325 plant species tested produced 50 to 100 per cent inhibition of infection with prunus necrotic ringspot virus /NRSV/, Twenty out of 176 tested plant species were found to inhibit infection with arabis mosaic virus /AMV/. In case the test plants were treated 24 hours prior to infection with NRSV, or AMV, an inhibiting effect was obtained with juices of 13 plant species, and if the test plants were treated 24 hours after infection, juices of 5 plant species produced an inhibiting effect.
Fruit virus transmission to herbaceous plants was stimulated by extracts from 6 plant species.

We were able to isolate an antiviral factor /AVF/ from peach leaves infected with tobacco mosaic virus or tomato ring spot virus.
This material proved to be protein of small molecule.
The antiviral factor resulted in the plant after the virus infection.
It has 80 % inhibiting effect against AMV.
