Abstract
Climate change already has a significant impact on agriculture, being viticulture one of the vulnerable branches considering the dependence on climatic conditions during the vine vegetation period, the main effects reported on the evolution of the phenophases of the vine and the accumulation of sugars in the grapes.
This paper aims to address a complex study on the climate changes recorded in the last 15 years in the wine-growing area of the Odobeşti vineyard, Vrancea (Romania) by analyzing the main annual and growing season climate factors (air temperature, precipitation, insolation, air hygroscopicity) and synthetic climate indexes (heliothermal index (IHr), hydrothermal coefficient (CH), bioclimatic index of the vine (Ibcv), aptitude index oenoclimatics (IAOe)). The climatic data analyzed in this study were recorded at the weather station of R.D.S.V.O. Odobeşti, in the period 2009-2023 and compared with the multiannual climate data (1946-2008). This study highlighted significant changes in climate factors in the Odobești wine ecosystem, and specific climate change phenomena (increase both annual and average values of the climate indicators, significant fluctuations in annual precipitation and, during the growing season, drought and prolonged heat waves, etc.), with a direct impact on the vegetative and productive vine potential.
