Abstract
Protected agriculture for horticultural crops is still at an experimental stage in Egypt.
Producers lack most of the necessary information concerning the "know-how" for technology of production in green structures.
The study provided information about benefits and costs of roses and some major medicinal plants, vegetables and vegetables transplants under variant types of green houses and tunnels.
According to the IRR estimates, roses and medicinal plants are best produced in wood and glass green houses, mature vegetables in fortified plastic structures and vegetables transplants in both fortified plastic and allumenium tunnels.
Vegetables should be produced at least twice a year in order to ensure economic rationality.
