Abstract
A study was made of the marketing prospects for Spanish mangoes on both the domestic and EEC market.
Indications are that the Spanish domestic market, for various reasons, point to an increase in consumption.
The European market will be able to absorb an estimated amount of 60 000 t mangoes by 1993. Spain will compete mainly with Israel, who will not be able to supply enough mangoes during their marketing period (July to October) but Spain will have difficulty in making up the difference in demand in Europe.
Prospects are therefore excellent for Spanish mangoes on both the domestic and EEC markets.
