Abstract
Monoclonal antibodies prepared against Pseudomonas syringae associated with bacterial canker of avocado were used to develop a accurate and reliable screening assay for nursery budwood sources.
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), immunofluorescence and dot blot immunobinding techniques were evaluated and compared, and the ELISA optimised for practical application in the commercial evaluation of potentially infected mother trees.
