Abstract
Two plant species were selected for tissue culture: high yielding oregano strain (6–9% of volatile oil v/w) and tansy (volatile oil with 80–90% of thujone). Callus and liquid cultures were used.
Calli from tissue culture were distilled using adapted microsteam distillation apparatus with microcapillary collector.
Calli were found to produce oil.
No cell glandular compartments or other formations have been detected in callus culture.
