Abstract
The establishment of a field genebank of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants by reconstruction of the original habitat is explained.
After 10 years at least 25 % of the original flora returned from neighbouring forest in the 50 ha of the experimental plot.
Since 1993 missing tree species are planted and about 1000 plant species of which 100 MAP. The program of TBGRI on passport data, conservation research, training and public relations is described.
