Abstract
In spring, 2000 a questionnaire was compiled in Hungary and sent out to virologists of Middle and Eastern Europe in order to update and complete knowledge about the situation of plum pox disease.
Information was required on different topics such as first description of PPV on woody hosts, geographical distribution, percentage of infected orchards/species; data on damage of economic importance; testing methods of PPV in the national certification scheme; topics of PPV research in the countries.
