Abstract
A study was done at the Dobele Horticultural Plant Breeding Experimental Station, Latvia, from 1999 to 2000. In total, 66 black currant genotypes were evaluated for morphological, phenological and horticultural characteristics.
Genotypes varied the most in berry maturity time, fruit size, cluster length, and spring frost hardiness.
Valuable genotypes, which had very late flowering and maturity times, large berries, long clusters, and high spring frost hardiness, were selected in the collection.
