Abstract
Sphagnum peat is commonly used in Poland as a growing medium for greenhouse tomatoes.
Lime and complete fertilizers containing all macro-and micronutrients are added to sphagnum peat before planting.

Recently ash of brown coal has been easily availbale in Poland as a by-product of power stations.
