Abstract
About 56 rose species occur in the Caucasus area.
Thirtysix of these species grow in Azerbaijan, situated in the southern part of the Causcasus.
Another 6 rose species are cultivated in Azerbaijan.
Rose species are one of the main components in the forests of the Hyrcan National Park which is situated in the Talysh mountain ridge, at 25-1600 m above sea level, in the southern part of Azerbaijan.
Nine rose species were recorded in the Hyrcan National Park.
Species growing in the upper areas lagged 23-27 days behind in development compared to species growing at the lowermost elevations.
