Abstract
Cauliflower under glass can be harvested in December if sown in August.

The treatment resulted in small premature heads being formed in an early Mechelse selection.

If sown as usual not until after 20 September, early Mechelse may be planted out from December onwards and the crop will be ready for cutting 2 ½ months later.
The mean cutting period is approx. three weeks.
For good plant development, frost-free conditions are preferable.

Self-blanching celery is grown in Belgium all the year round.
For cropping in December the recommended sowing date is around the end of June and planting under glass in August.

For a harvest in May sowing is in December.
Assimilation light applied during the raising period will increase both growth rate and crop weight.
The best results were obtained with celery receiving temperatures of around 15° C.

Fennel can be harvested from the middle of March, if sown arround mid-November.
Twenty plants per square meter is right and the best spacing appeared to be 30 cm x 16.5 cm.
Good results are obtained at temperatures of 8° C at night and of 12° C in the daytime.
