Abstract
A study was made at Manduel Gard of the economic competitivity of a water-water heat pump allowing for variability in the electricity tariff and the possibility of solar energy recovery.
The system used ground water, flexible ducts laid on the ground, acting as radiator or collector, storage facilities, and a diesel and/or electric heat pump.
The pumps (in parallel) supply 250–350 therms/hourand 60m3/hour of water at 25 to 35°C, either to a condenser or to the ducts, which cover 3500m2, circulating 80m3/hour.

The study, in view of its distance away, had rudimentary technical support and was constrained by the fact that its results were determined by final crops taken sometime after the tests.
