Abstract
In this paper attention will be paid to some particular aspects concerning energy saving in protected cultivation.
This special attention will be paid to those measures, that can be taken before planting out, that means during propagation, or to measures confined to the period from planting out untill harvesting starts.
Several of such measures can result in shortening the period between planting out and the start of harvesting.
It is easy to understand that shortening this period diminishes the amount of energy.
On the other hand one has to realise that extra measures may be more costy, which give a reduction of the savings.
