Abstract
Experiments on greenhouse heating by warm-water circulating in plastic sheaths set on the ground have been performed :

  • by the INRA, on tomatoe plantations, with various covering sheath ration and various water temperatures

  • by the INVUFLEC, on melon plantation

Compared to acconventional pulsed air heating, the sheath technic seems to produce a more efficient distribution of the air temperature near the ground and into the soil.
The agronomic results are either equal, either better than those obtained with a pulsed air heating.
