Abstract
The DELLA protein family is gibberellins (GA) signal transcription factor located in the nucleus, which inhibit the signal transduction of GA and regulate other gene expression.
To clone these genes is meaningful to carry out GA research.
A pair of degenerate primer was designed based on the conservative region of Malus Della gene sequence, bands about 750 bp were amplified in diploid, triploid and tetraploid genogtypes of loquat (Eriobotra japonica Lindl.) according with the anticipated length.
Sequencing of the purified PCR product indicated that the fragment length varied from 682 to 695 bp according to the level of ploidy.
Blast analysis within NCBI website showed that the homology between the amplified fragments of loquat and Malus was higher than 70%, which implies the PCR product corresponded to an exon of DELLA protein gene.
