Abstract
The Ca-K antagonism is studied to obtain a satisfactory Ca/K ratio as the first step to achieve an optimum cationic nutrition of plants.
Values of Ca/K ratio tested were : 0.7, 1.2 and 1.5 Anionic relations remained constant.
In the first treatment visual symptoms of "blossom end rot" were observed.
Ca/K ratio in the leaf is related to Ca/K ratio in the nutrient solution, but Ca/K ratio in the sap is a better index of the Ca/K in the medium.
Ca/K ratios in sap and leaf are proposed.
Those results would serve as reliable information about the Ca and K nutrition of plants, and the relations of both with other elements.
