Abstract
The "140 Ruggeri" (Vitis Berlandieri x Vitis rupestris) grape rootstock is characterized by a relatively low natural rooting ability, and the rooted cuttings are of poor quality as to length and number of roots.

Attempts at improving the rooting ability of this rootstock have utilized dipping in water and IBA treatments with interesting results (Bartolini and Toponi, 1981). Following previous research (Fabbri et al., 1986), this trial tested the effects of 2-chloroethyl- trimethyl-ammonium chloride (CCC) treatments on stock plants on adventitious root formation, in cuttings collected in October.
