Abstract
Five’ types of peach rootstocks I.D. S37 (seedling selection of S 37), Nemaguard, GF305, Elberta seedlings and wild Greek seedlings were planted in a calcareous soil which was used as a peach nursery the previous year.
The resistance to iron deficiency and replant disease problems were studied.
The first chlorotic symptoms appeared at the third year from planting and observations were taken for 12 years.

The rootstock Nemaguard was the most sensitive to Iron deficiency.
During the last five years an increase of chlorosis was observed on the rootstocks GF 305 and Elberta seedlings.
The wild Greek seedling and I.D.S 37 were the most resistant to Iron deficiency.
In addition I.D.S 37 had the greatest girth expansion compared with all the other rootstocks due to its efficiency in overcoming the replant disease problems.
