Abstract
Peach seed were soaked in a benzyladenine solution to determine if the stratification requirement could be eliminated and rapid germination obtained.
Resulting seedlings could be transplanted to the field nursery earlier in the growing season and make possible the fruiting of some of the seedlings the following year.
At present the best results have been obtained by a 24 hr exposure to 50–100 mg/l of BA.
