Abstract
Methods have been developed for nucleic acid extraction, which have enabled the cloning of five genes whose expression increases dramatically during fruit ripening.
The fruit-specificity of the promoters of one of these genes is being assessed.
This work is the first step towards the transgenic manipulation of the non-climacteric blackcurrant fruit.
