Abstract
In this study six clones of “Verdeca” vine on two roostocks (140 R and 157/11), in two experimental fields [Valenzano (BA) and Otranto (BR)], in Southern Italy, were compared.
The aim of this research was to study the ampelographic characteristics of cluster and of berry and the enological characteristics of must and of wine for selecting clones with good qualitative and quantitative characteristics of wine.
Statistical differences were observed among clones, between experimental fields and between roostocks.
The best clone for enological characteristics was the clone N. 12, for high value in acidity, excellent value in pH and right content in sugars.
