Abstract
Cerasus discoidea Yü et Li is an endemic species of wild cherry in China.
In order to protect germplasm resources reasonably, in this study, the sexual reproduction was investigated.
The results show that the seeds of C. discoidea can be stored by sealed dry storage method between 3 to 5°C. The water content of the seeds was between 2 to 4%, and seed vigor ranged from 99.3 to 100%, during the storage period.
Selective sowing in two kinds of growing media decreased the rate of dwarfing seedlings by 0.7 and 1.1% respectively when compared to random sowing.
And the emergence rate of selective sowing in two kinds of growing media is 99.0 and 96.5% respectively.
Meanwhile, organic substrate containing more than 50% organic matter, and more than 2.5% nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is more conducive to emergence and growth.
After the seeds were sown for 150 days, the average height of seedlings was 44.67 cm, and base diameter was 2.77 mm, with seedlings having 16 true leaves.
After dry stones were stored sealed under low temperature until autumn, then they were stratified under the constant temperature 3-5°C for 30 days and then under the natural variable low temperature in winter.
After that, field seedbed nursery was conducted, and seed germination rate was 28.4% in the spring, and the seedlings grew fast.
